Priority 4 - Anti-social behaviour

 

Anti-social behaviourAnti-Social Behaviour has been highlighted by consultation and the assessment and is considered to be a concern across the district but in particular the five key wards of Cliftonville West, Margate Central, Eastcliffe, Harbour and Dane valley.

Aim

To robustly tackle anti-social behaviour and challenge poor behaviour, improve people’s perceptions and improve quality of life in communities.

Objectives 2008 - 2011

  • Improve people’s perceptions around issues of anti-social behaviour (NI017 perceptions of anti-social behaviour behaviour and County Agreement)
  • Reduce crime & ASB where the offender or victim are aged 17 years and under (County Agreement)
  • Improving understanding of local concerns (NI027 Understanding of local concerns about anti-social behaviour and crime by the local council and police)

Delivery of these objectives

Robustly tackle anti-social behaviour

Through the tactical group get direction as to the worse cases of anti-social behaviour in the district and apply the toolkit through ASB officers within the Community Safety Unit.

Improve people’s perceptions

TDC communications team in partnership with the Community Safety Unit work on a communications plan to implement during the 12 months that gives an accurate and balanced view on community safety.
