The Thanet Community Safety Partnership

Who are we?

We are a statutory body which includes Thanet District Council, Kent County Council, East Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and other statutory bodies, as well as organisations from the voluntary sector.  Our official title is 'Crime and Disorder Partnership'.  The Partnership is run by a Project Manager with administrative support.

What we do

We implement initiatives (for example CCTV and youth work) that will help all areas of Thanet become a safe place to live, work and visit.

How we do it

The Crime & Disorder Act 1998 requires the local council, local police and other partners to undertake an audit every three years and then produce a three-year plan to tackle the problems identified.

The Plan identifies the Partnership's aims, the key themes that it believes must be addressed and the areas where the greatest impact is needed. The Plan tells you what actions will be taken and how we will judge if progress is being made.

If you are part of a local or community group and would like members of the Partnership to attend one of your meetings to discuss the Community Safety Plan. Email: community.safety@thanet.gov.uk providing us with your contact name, address and/or telephone number

We hold regular meetings between our partners to action and update this document.

Where we do it

The Thanet Community Safety Partnership is located in a Thanet District Council office, however, we implement work in all areas of Thanet.
