PACT panels - the future
PACT meetings are an opportunity for members of the community to
meet with agencies, like the council and police and voice any
concerns or opinions about the area.
PACT panels, which many members of the public have attended, are
changing. The meetings, which stand for Partners and
Communities Together were previously held monthly in each ward
across Thanet.
The Community Safety Partnership has recently reviewed PACT
panels as a monthly meeting in each ward was not sustainable and
levels of public attendance did not justify a separate meeting for
every ward.
Instead, there will now be quarterly meetings taking place
for Thanet North (Margate, Cliftonville, Dane Valley and
Salmestone), South (Ramsgate panels including Newington and
Northwood), East (all Broadstairs panels including Kingsgate and
St. Peter's) and West (Birchington, Garlinge, Westbrook and
Westgate). View a map of the areas.
The Partnership would like to thank all the officers who
regularly attended the previous ward level meetings and encourage
anyone who would like to attend the new set up, to do so. The
meetings are listed below and will be advertised on news
items and on the Kent
Police's website in advance.
The meetings are open to all members of the public living in
each of the four areas of Thanet and look at issues
affecting residents in these specific areas.

PACT meetings and Community Safety Open Forums
PACT meetings are different to the Community Safety Open Forums.
The Open Forums are attended by senior police and council
officers to hear people’s views on the community safety issues that
matter to them. They are held quarterly in a different area of
Thanet each time and are open to anyone who lives anywhere in
Thanet to come along and discuss issues from anywhere in the
district.
They are more strategic than the PACT meetings and help to set
partnership priorities and update crime data.
