JOIN 'PACT' TODAY!

PACT stands for 'Partners and Communities Together'. These are regular meetings in each ward across Thanet, which are attended by Kent Police, Thanet council and other local officers. Residents are able to go along and speak openly about anything that they are concerned about in their community.

What has been achieved though PACT to date?

Northwood

Plans are underway to regenerate Coleman Crescent and a separate action group has been established from the PACT.

Cliftonville West

Officers have carried out early morning operations to issue fixed penalty notices to those allowing their dog to foul on the street and not cleaning up. This action was taken directly from resident concerns.

Eastcliff and Central Harbour

A tactical delivery group was set up with a variety of partner agencies following initial involvement with businesses through their local PACT.

Several PACT panels have applied for funding through the ‘Community Cashback’ initiative, which uses fine money from offenders. For example, Boundary Park lighting and Ramsgate Skate Park- things that will really benefit residents.

Many PACT members have gone on to be ‘Community Crime fighters’ and are attending Home Office training sessions in Southampton and Brighton.

Community Payback have carried out more than 1000 hours, since January, of projects suggested by residents - for example, Dane Valley park the alleyway at Stephen’s walk in Ramsgate.
