Policing Pledge

The Government have agreed that a new Policing Pledge should be implemented across all police forces.

The aim of the pledge is to set out a national standard of what you can expect from the police. The pledge will also contain the local priorities for policing agreed by communities in your neighbourhood.

How are Kent Police promoting the pledge?

Police are carrying out 'confidence visits' with every victim of crime to see how they are getting on and whether they need further support.

All neighbourhood officers carry a copy of the pledge for the public to view and present this information at each PACT panel. This is following one to one sessions with officers to ensure that they have full understanding of the pledge.

Every central community place has been sent posters with the pledge on and have been asked to display this. Banners have been made and are being displayed at public events.

Neighbourhood officers have been on KMFM radio to explain what is involved in the pledge.

Local buses are displaying the pledge.

Every household in Thanet will soon recieve a copy of the policing pledge through the front door, which will make it clear to all residents exactly what they can expect.
