hosted by Thanet District Council

Thanet Community Safety Forum

We gave you the chance to come along to have your say about crime in your area at the Thanet Gateway. With sessions from December to April this was a chance to speak to the TCSP team about:

  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Violence in the night time economy
  • Substance misuse
  • Domestic abuse
  • Criminal damage

You spoke to representatives in confidence or just came along and found out more about what we are doing to help reduce crime in the Thanet District.

Police Officers, Fire Officers, Community Wardens and Community Safety Coordinators, magistrates and other professionals were present to answer questions and for you to talk about issues of concern to you.

Conclusion

Over the five month period we had nearly 50 residents from over the Isle come and speak to the agency representatives regarding community safety issues.

We also had 12 anonymous cards put into the comments box, which was available for those that were unable to make the times of the surgeries or for those who wished to remain anonymous or even were just a little nervous about talking to the agencies direct.

Overall the sessions were very successful and helpful to those who made use of them.  Information gained here was taken back to the relevant agency and worked on individually to improve peoples quality of life.
